Expert Chassis Advice From Dennis Day, Vice-President

Dennis joined the staff of Dodgen Industries and Born Free Motorcoach in the spring of 1974.  He first worked in production assembly building the Born Free detachable campers. After a few months he was transferred into the service department where he learned to do repair work on the campers, as well as new pickup setups and mounting of new campers. Ever since that time he has specialized in electrical installations and issues.

In April of 1975 Dennis was part of a team that developed the original fiberglass molds for the first Born Free motor homes. Then in July of 1975 Dennis was promoted to Production lead man and started the assembly line to produce the new motorhome models. He stayed in that capacity until mid-1982.

In 1982 Dennis became the Purchasing Agent for the company. He was responsible to buy and have materials on-hand and on-time for the next seven years. In 1989 he was promoted to be the Director of Research and Development. In that job role he worked on developing new floor plans as well as other new product enhancements for Born Free. He did table-version design drafting until the company moved into Computer Aid Design (CAD) drafting in the mid-1990's. He then supervised the newly formed CAD department staff.

In January of 1996 Dennis was promoted to Vice President. Since that time he has aided the sales department with his years of experience. From his years of purchasing truck chassis he has been the specialist in truck questions and applications. When Dodgen/Born Free joined the National Truck Equipment Association (NTEA) Dennis has been the company representative attending their conferences annually; studying new truck brands and models; and keeping a watchful eye on alternative fuels and other evolving trends in the industry.

Dennis is currently in his 39th year with the company and as a senior manager helps to oversee operation of the company and aid customers in any way that he can.

Dennis welcomes any questions that you may have regarding the chassis selection for each Born Free model.  Please feel free to contact Dennis at bornfreerv@bornfreerv.com or by calling 1-800-247-1835.
